Dirty Little Secret 1.5″ Soft Plastic Crappie Bait

Meet the Dirty Little Secret — a 1.5-inch soft plastic with a whole lot of action packed into a small bait. Its ribbed body, flexible side appendages, and tail create movement in the water with even the slightest twitch of your rod.

Whether you’re jigging it, swimming it, or letting it fall through the water column, the Dirty Little Secret gives crappie plenty to notice. Those little appendages move and flutter while the tail adds even more action, making this a great choice when fish are feeding aggressively or when you need to convince a stubborn crappie to bite.

Fish it around brush piles, standing timber, docks, submerged vegetation, bridge pilings, creek channels, and other crappie-holding structure. It can be worked vertically over fish, cast and retrieved, or slowly jigged through suspended schools.

How to Fish the Dirty Little Secret

The Dirty Little Secret pairs perfectly with a light jig head. Start with a 1/32 oz or 1/16 oz jig head and adjust your weight depending on depth, current, and how quickly you want the bait to fall.

Try a slow lift-and-fall retrieve, give it small twitches under a float, vertically jig it over structure, or simply swim it back with a slow, steady retrieve. You don't need to overwork this bait — those appendages and tail will do plenty of the work for you.

A few ways to rig it:

  • Jig Head — our go-to setup for casting, swimming, or vertical jigging.
  • Under a Float — great for keeping the bait right in the strike zone.
  • Vertical Jigging — drop it down around brush, timber, docks, or suspended fish.
  • Drop Shot — a good option when you want the Dirty Little Secret hovering in place with plenty of subtle movement.

Why It Works

The Dirty Little Secret gives crappie a combination of profile, movement, and vibration in one compact 1.5-inch bait. The ribbed body creates a bigger presence in the water, while all those little appendages move independently as the bait falls and swims.

And that tail? It adds another layer of movement that can help turn a curious crappie into a biting crappie.

Sometimes the fish don't need to know everything.

Just give 'em your Dirty Little Secret. ?
